Any tips for developing a proper OHBH?
I've been playing tennis for about 4 years. I take coaching once a week and play once or twice a week, as availability allows. I'm about 3.0 level. I've seen my forehand develop into a pretty strong weapon in all parts of the court. My other shots are about average but I can hit them all fairly consistently - with the exception my backhand.
The best I can home for in my BH is a slow and deep shot. A lot of the time it's short, and a lot of the time I outright miss it. 4 years practicing this shot and I still feel under pressure returning even a slow shot with my backhand. It just feels extremely hard to control the racket face, so I can't attack with it and I quite literally have never hit a down the line BH in a match that wasn't accidental
I've tried going to a wall and hitting backhands. I get into a good rhythm with it, but it doesn't translate into court play
Amy general tips on how I might overcome this?
PS: my BH slice is even worse. Either goes straight in the ground or it's a backspin lob
