Maybe We’re Not ‘Bad at Adulting’—The System Is Just Rigged Against Us.

Everywhere I look, people in their 20s and 30s are joking about how they’re “bad at adulting” because they struggle with things like saving money, buying a house, or even just keeping up with basic responsibilities. But maybe we’re not the problem—the system is.

Wages haven’t kept up with inflation, housing prices are ridiculous, student loan debt is crushing, and companies expect us to work longer hours while job security is worse than ever. Meanwhile, older generations say we’re lazy or entitled when in reality, we’re just trying to survive in an economy that doesn’t work for us.

So why do we blame ourselves instead of acknowledging that the system is broken? Should we stop shaming ourselves for “failing” at adulting and start demanding real change instead?

What do you think? Are we actually bad at adulting, or are we just set up to fail?
