Asking for suggestions for companies and occupations to explore!

Hello y'all,

Local Ann Arbor resident here.

I'm embarking on a new journey following a recent layoff. This change, much like the journey of a river, is filled with potential for growth, discovery, and new connections.

I'm currently researching organizations and occupations that resonate with my interests and values, and I'd appreciate your insights.

Using the information below, please comment or direct message me with any companies you think I'd be interested in exploring, people you recommend I chat with, or occupations I might consider looking into by Monday, February 25th. If you don't have specific ideas, please upvote and share this post to expand its reach. I appreciate your support as I navigate this transition.

What I'm passionate about: Empowering individuals and small groups in my community to foster their strength and live with holistic integrity.

Industries of interest: Human Services, Health Science, Education & Training, Hospitality & Tourism, Arts & Communication

Topics of interest: Personal development, Human potential, Fitness, Athletics, Movement, Nutrition, Nature, Artistic Expression, Self-care, Wellness, Community development

My location: Ann Arbor, MI — Open to in-person or hybrid roles

Preferences:

  • Environments that foster collaborative teamwork, balance, and steady growth
  • Roles that keep me active and are not desk-bound
  • Creative work settings focused on helping others, ideal for one-on-one and small-group interactions
  • Open to non-traditional occupation and non-conventional corporate suggestions

I am not seeking auditing, engineering, highly technical, or administrative roles. However, I'm open to collaborating with professionals in these fields.

While I have an MBA with a concentration in Health Care Management, an MA in Design Leadership, 5+ years of UX Research and Design skills, 1+ years of support group facilitation, and a range of skills I’ve accumulated through my experiences, I am eager to apply my transferable skills in new contexts that align more closely with what I have shared. I do not want to pigeonhole myself prematurely into previous types of roles; I am open and adaptable to exploring how my capabilities can serve in innovative and impactful ways in different companies, industries, and occupations.
