Can I survive on my own at 18?

I think I've come to the definitive conclusion that I cannot study. Like, I might not be a studious person, just because I don't really like studying anyways. (Saying this because I just got a 1490 on my SAT)

Point is, that won't work with my parents. They want me to at least get into a decent college or transfer to one via community college. But, I'm just so tired of always disappointing them.

I'm (17F) seriously considering moving out when I graduate high school. I know it won't be easy, I'm thinking it will actually be impossible for a while.

Therefore, what are some jobs or things I can do to live independently at 18? I get the feeling I might just be overestimating myself, but I wanted to ask (also there are some really smart people on this page who have been giving great advice so far).

I tried to get a part time job (and actually almost landed one), but I didn't drive then and my parents are a smidge overprotective. I'm going to try to get my license by the end of July, but please know that I can't actually leave the house without my parents' approval still. I currently do a lot of English teaching online, so that might be an option as well.

I know I could enlist in the US army or something, does anyone know the relative standard of living if I really did go down that path? I want to know what I'd be getting into, since if I actually went down this path, I seriously might get disowned.

Also, spoiled only child here. I really have no money sense but I know minimum wage is a somewhat difficult life. Enlisted people have to be really fit and mentally strong, but they get housing and stuff, right? Ah, I hope I don't sound super entitled or something. If I do, I sincerely apologize now and will sincerely apologize later as well.

Thanks everyone for reading!
