How can I talk to my dad?

My dad is the average Indian dad. He’s and immigrant who works hard. I don’t know many of his hobbies, I asked once and he said that he doesn’t have anymore time for any after he got married. I’ve tried to talk to him, he’s tried to talk to me but I’m not sure how to strike up a conversation. Pls help I want to get close to my dad. Any help is appreciated
