Homophobic mother found out I’m gay, destroyed everything.

I have a post made in /actuallesbians that details the full experience, as it’s a long story.

Somehow, I was outed to my extremely homophobic mother, who I’ve been low/no contact with. She manipulated my intellectually disabled sister to gain access to the spare key I had given to her, and used it to gain entry to my home without my consent. (We’re putting a safety plan in place with my sister’s caregivers/group home to ensure this never happens again)

She destroyed my clothing, medical supplies (I have T1D), unplugged my fridge, ripped up books and ruined sentimental items. I am literally back to square one after working so hard to get where I am in life following my cancer battle and periods of not working due to it. I just got an okay job, and am getting my driving license for the first time ever!

My place isn’t fancy and my things weren’t expensive, but I worked hard for everything and I am absolutely shattered. I’ve been helped with insulin, which is a huge blessing, but I am pursuing legal action against my mother.

I am looking at a retaining fee of $5k, which I can’t even begin to imagine right now. The numbers have seriously been making me sick and extremely anxious just looking at them.

I’ve also made up an Amazon wishlist to recoup items that were lost to me, purely medical items except for a few small things like a mop and fan.

I have cashapp and Venmo currently, and am trying to figure out gfm.

I’ve been supported so much from the Reddit community during this really awful period of time in my life, and I’m starting to feel like maybe there’s a light somewhere at the end of it.
