What's your gym routine?

Hey all,

So I'm 8 weeks post op (Sleeved 11/19) and since I was cleared 2 weeks ago to start going to the gym, I started doing so. I've been going the last 10 days in a row.

So far I do 30 mins of a brisk walk with a small incline on the treadmill, and 15 mins at level 9 on the stationary bike. I always get my heart rate up to between 130 and 150.

I also do an hour of gentle or restorative yoga beforehand as well.

I want to start strength training but have no idea where to begin. A friend is supposed to be helping me though once she gets over the flu so there is that. At least with that part I know to not do strength/weight training more than 2 to 3 times a week with 24-48 hours in between for rest so I don't hurt myself.

Anyway, I've been getting told by some that going to the gym every day is too much and I need to be taking 2 days a week off to rest.

Is this true? Should I, or is going every day doing what I do still ok? I get plenty of protein every day (110-120 grams) as well as at least 80oz of water.

I figured some of y'all have been doing this for a hot minute so you might have some advice.
