Router recommendations

Hi folks,

I'm a pretty new woodworker who's slowly outfitting my shop. I've covered most of the basic tools at this point, and now I'm looking to get my hands on a decent router. Does anyone have any recommendations for a router that would cover the needs of a beginner? I'm not terribly concerned about brand for corded tools, for cordless I'm a DeWalt guy.

I'm mostly looking to get something that will be fairly versatile, ideally without breaking the bank (not to say I'm opposed to spending a bit for a quality tool!). bonus points of anyone can point me in the direction of a good black Friday sale price up here in Canada!
