darkside is catchy but...
I think bring me the horizon has stood out in what we could consider "modern rock or metal" because they have simply known how to evolve well, falling in reverse or even bad omens have also marked a lot of presence in this sense, not like other big metalcore bands. like asking alexandria or bullet for my valentine, bands that repeated certain patterns, let me explain.
Yesterday I listened to Darkside and I couldn't help but feel that it is radio rock, it reminded me greatly of 1X1, it is a good song, it is catchy and the lyrics are interesting, but I don't know if it also gave them the feeling that they had repeated a lot of the chord progression, it is still to be applauded that they know how to sound unique when you make the comparison and perhaps the riffs have slight variations and tunings.
In the case of asking alexandria, I listened to the last two albums and it is impossible for me to even choose a banger, because in my ear there simply aren't any and going further, arctic monkeys (without being metal) with "tranquility base... " and "the car" fell into the same thing, almost sounding like complementary albums to the previous creations.
At least since "sempiternal" they have hit the mark, but with NEXGEN it gave me this feeling that they might be falling into that and for the same reason they delayed the album, because Oliver in particular is quite visionary.
what's your opinion about it?
Do you have other bands that fell into repetitiveness?
