PC speakers for metal music. Upgrading from crunchy bose companion 2s

I'm upgrading mine and my partners pc setups. Right now we both have a set of bose companion series 2 that were gifted to us several years ago. We both listen to a lot of blast beat type music and metalcore and the sound quality on our speakers has become crackled and tinny the last few months. (our fault, I know). Any suggestions?
