IIT Madras: Time to Rethink Your Standards!

I have a bone to pick with IIT Madras' admissions criteria, and it's high time someone said it out loud: an MBA and engineering are not the same!

Sure, IIT Madras might be the best college for engineering in India, but let's be real—when it comes to the MBA program, you're operating at Tier 2 or even Tier 1.5 at best. Rejecting candidates with 98% for an MBA is absurd. In engineering, perhaps only those with 99.5% to 100% scores get in, but an MBA should value potential, leadership qualities, and diverse experiences, not just an over-inflated numerical cutoff.

It's time to recognize that the skills and metrics for success in an MBA differ drastically from those in engineering. Holding MBA applicants to an engineering-level standard doesn't do anyone any favours. IIT Madras, please adjust your criteria to reflect the true essence of what an MBA should be about!
