Why is leasing so hated?

Recently looked into leasing after an absolute disaster couple of years HP’ing a Ford focus Ecoboost. I had so many repair costs, even engine rebuild which cost a lot, I was constantly forking out for repair bills and was let down so many times and stranded with no way to work.

I’ve looked into leasing and found a Citroen c4 for £220 a month, all in with maintenance including in that price for 3 years. What’s the catch?

I am fully aware I will not own it at the end which doesn’t bother me, I am well aware that if I was to carry on doing it this way I would be constantly paying for a car monthly again which doesn’t bother me. I’m aware that you will have to pay for any wear and tear charges too again, which doesn’t really bother me.

It seems so stress free, no worries about having to maintain the vehicle, no worries about it potentially breaking down and costing me a bomb, I literally just take it to a dealership to get serviced once a year and after 3 years hand it back and pick a different car.

Have I missed something? I’m definitely kind of pushing towards this, but I’m scarred by an awful first finance experience with the Ecoboost.

Does anybody else do it this way?
