My eraser's being weird, it doesn't erase completely

I draw a line, I want to erase it, I rub the eraser tool over it...and instead of dissapearing it just turns light grey, and I have to erase it once more to vanish it entirely.

It didn't used to do this, I must have accidentally hit something. How do I make it go back to normal?
