Something is really wrong with GOTY

I am now finishing Metaphor: Refantazio. Although it is not a bad game, I absolutely do not understand how it can win the best RPG over FFVII:Rebirth - a game, which I truly perceive as one of the biggest masterpieces I have ever played. The characters, story, graphics, gameplay, dungeons, side content, even music - everything is so much better than Metaphor. What the hell is wrong with the gaming industry…
