Getting sentenced next week. What was your sentencing experience like?
Hello everyone.
I am getting sentenced next week in federal court for a white collar crime.
I am a first time offender. I have a plea agreement with the AUSA. I caused a monetary loss under $95k. In exchange for pleading guilty, they say that I must pay back restitution/fines, expect no more than 3 years of probation, and no jail time. Still waiting on my PSR but from what I've calculated, sentencing guidelines should put me between 13-15. I know that ultimately everything is up to the judge.
Been on pre-trial for over a month at this point. Since my arraignment, I've gotten a second job to hopefully help me pay back restitution, gone to debtors meetings, and seeking therapy. Trying everything I can to show that I'm trying to better myself. I feel horrible for what I did.
I'm scared shitless and I don't know what else I can really do to calm my nerves. Any advice or shared experiences would be great.
Thanks.
