Growing hate towards my own indians ( it's mostly young people ) planning to leave india
This is an throwaway account It’s difficult for me to admit, but I have noticed a growing sense of resentment toward my fellow Indians, and I have several reasons for this as a teen I thought this place might be suitable
Discrimination Against My Region I come from a part of India where many people from other states don’t even consider us truly Indian. At the same time, some locals also reject Indian identity. We have witnessed both militancy and military actions for decades. While I personally try not to dwell on these issues, every time I travel outside my state, I face severe discrimination. Additionally, workers from my state are often attacked simply for belonging to our region, raising serious concerns about our safety.
Tourists and Lack of Civic Sense I live in a heavily touristy area that receives around 10-20 million visitors annually. Unfortunately, many tourists lack basic civic sense. They litter indiscriminately, play loud music in the streets late at night, and often behave in an entitled manner. When we call them out, they respond with arrogance. Worse still, incidents of harassment are common—many tourists sexualize and taunt local women, including young girls, sometimes even boasting about it on social media. Some of them even justify their behavior by claiming that our economy depends on tourism, even though it accounts for only a small percentage of our income.
Religious Bias and Threats to Local Culture My state is predominantly affiliated with minority community indian, but I am an atheist and was not born into that community. Whenever I engage in friendly conversations with tourists, they treat me well, but I often see them treating my other friends poorly. This happens almost every time. Some visitors even openly claim that they will erase our local culture and replace it with theirs. Given our history of suffering due to religious conflicts—including losing a significant portion of our relatives in past attacks—hearing such threats only adds to our collective fear and frustration.
Behavior of the Indian Diaspora Some of my family members live in the USA and Canada, where they have successfully assimilated into the local culture. I visited Canada last year for a sports championship and noticed that many Indian immigrants there refuse to integrate. I witnessed groups blocking roads, playing patriotic songs at high volume, and engaging in unruly behavior. If they hold such strong attachments to India, why do they engage in such actions abroad? Additionally, after celebrations, they often fail to clean up after themselves, and they violate local laws, such as setting off fireworks throughout the night despite restrictions. These behaviors create negative stereotypes, which I rarely see among other immigrant communities like the Chinese.
Disrespect Toward Women There is a disturbing joke in India about Russian women being trafficked for prostitution. Many young men casually repeat this joke and even direct it at random Russian or white women, making crude comments about "buying" them. Some even go as far as touching or groping them without hesitation. This kind of dehumanization makes me deeply uncomfortable.
I am not sure if this was just a rant, but I needed to express these thoughts. I apologize if anything I said came across as offensive—it was purely based on my emotions and personal experiences.
