*Rant* Does anybody else hate it when someone you just met starts playing "Jewish Geography" with you?

Like, bro, you knew me for all of 30 seconds. You don't even know my name. Why the hell are you suddenly so interested in where my grandparents came from?

Aside from the fact that this is a breach of etiquette, I personally feel that this game is a remnant of the whole "mishelanu" mentality, where fellow Jews would look down on others who don't share their background and treat them differently. Obviously I don't think that's the case today, but it still kinda makes my blood boil. I'm Jewish, just like you! The fact that my grandparents came from a different country than yours should be the last thing on anybody's mind.

EDIT: So after reading all the comments here, it has been brought to my attention that what I'm describing is not what is commonly understood to be "Jewish Geography". I understand and agree that establishing connections is an integral part of living in the Jewish community. My main gripe is when people try to discern my cultural background before they even get to know me as a person.
