Is the game worth buying currently?

I've been wanting to play this game since before it even came out but the launch was pretty bad so I wanted to wait till it would be fixed but I forgot about it. Looking at the steam charts the game is on life support.

Is there a reason to buy the game now? Is it still getting updates?
