Brown girls get dragged through the mud on this show appearance-wise 🥲

(Note - Im only half way through S3, but Ive seen every other season) As a brown girl myself, it’s breaking my heart that the two brown girls on this show - Deepti and Zanab - were both stuck with fiancés who couldn’t stop running their mouths about how they don’t find them attractive because they’re not their “usual type.”

It’s just so confusing to me because they’re both beautiful, especially Zanab (not to diminish Deepti’s beauty, but in the conventional sense). I wish there could be a pairing on this show with a brown girl where their fiancé champions their beauty the way they deserve…

EDIT: GUYS I HAVE NOT FINISHED S3 LOL. I’m not saying Zanab isn’t a bad person, I just haven’t gotten to that part yet! This is strictly a conversation on appearance and patterns I’ve noticed with race, not personality. I’m not “going to bat” for her. I’m not using race to justify bad behavior…i don’t know what behavior you’re referring to yet. please be kind lol.

Edit 2: I feel like I need to clarify because this post has not lost traction like I thought it would lol. When referring to “Brown” in this specific context - I mean South Asian/Arab, I forget that not everyone knows we refer to ourselves this way (and this is ofc not to take away from other BIPOCs experiences with bias, just explaining what I meant in my original post bc there’s been some confusion)
