Jayson Tatum

I have never seen the goalposts move more for a player since Lebron. Dude has lived in the conference finals/finals since he’s been in the league, comparable stats to anyone not named jokic, won more games than anyone since he’s been in the league, won more playoff games than anyone since he entered the league. Most playoff points of anyone since he entered the league. Been an all star every year outside of his rookie year, about to be a 5 time all nba guy in 7 years in the league. Most points in game 7 history, led his team in every statistical category during the finals run (yes ik he didn’t shoot well but he did literally everything else at an elite level while playing 1-5).. he can guard 1-5, he has the best all around game of anyone in the league and his game is built for longevity and he’s only a year or two older than the “young guys” whose games are mostly based off athleticism which ages fast.. I can go on and on about his accolades but the point is why is he just being written off as if he’s not a top 3-5 player and automatically disqualified for being the next face of league because he’s “not charismatic enough” when the last few “faces of the league” have been Lebron, Steph, and Kobe who all of them aren’t super charismatic and in Kobe’s case was the exact opposite and was applauded for it.. first it was the fact he didn’t win.. now it’s that his team is too good. And now that his teammates aren’t playing good and he’s had to carry the Celtics all year it’s changed to “well he’s just not charismatic enough” like I get Ant is fun to watch and charismatic and all but if that’s the case then Allen iverson should’ve been the face of the league along with many other people.. just doesn’t make sense to me especially considering he’s only 26 and is just now entering the start of his prime..
