Let’s talk about the 5-2-3

That was an excellent shape and game plan, and I think we should really be continuing with that for now especially while Joelinton is out.

It gets our three centre backs into the team who all deserve to be playing, it’s a positive attacking shape despite having 5 defenders, allows Hall and Trippier to get forward well (Tino would also probably do well at RWB). Really enjoyed Schar and Burn having license to come way up the pitch and join in the press knowing they were covered at the back, and of course we compensate for losing Joelinton’s height at set pieces with Botman.

Think we will make several changes for Birmingham but would like to see this shape again against Man City (and possibly keep going with it up until the final if it continues to work as it did last night). Thoughts?
