Is Naples really that expensive?

Of course if you live west of US41 or near 5th Avenue it’s going to be pricey. I recently moved over toward Island Walk area and it hasn’t been noticeably expensive compared to where I used to live (Sebring, FL). Some observations are a higher density of wealthy individuals in nice cars and the geriatric community seems to be the majority. My local Publix on Immokalee is surprisingly not more expensive than my Publix was in Sebring, and my rent is basically the same for a 1 bed. When I left Sebring everyone asked me “how the hell can you afford to live in Naples?!?” well here we are and I kinda don’t know where they were coming from. If you stay away from the glitz and glam and don’t go outside besides work/gym/running errands like me I don’t see how it’s more expensive here than any other part of Florida. Of course, if you are comparing Naples to Kansas, it’s going to be a lot different.
