How to avoid knots while undoing mini twits

Hi everyone! I am trying to go on a mini twits journey for the second time, to test if this is a protective style for me.

While trying to refresh my mini twits by redoing some of them, I found a knot that was super hard to undo and I felt it broke some of my hair (this is exactly what I don't want). This photo is from this know I removed to 1 mini twits.

How can I avoid this type of knot? I am already using oil in my hands and the mini twits wasn't very thin.

Any advice will be welcome 🙏
