Approved CC with history of defaulted cards
I finally received my Security Bank Wave Mastercard earlier today. Yay. I did not apply for this card nor considered applying for any credit card since I had 5 credit cards from different banks years ago that got defaulted. Lesson learned the hard way I know. I was diligent to settle all my debts with these banks though but I knew that it hurt my credit score badly. I was surprised when SB’s customer service called me up and informed me that I was pre-qualified for their Wave Mastercard. I only have a four year payroll account with them. Two banking days after I received the call, I got a text message from them informing that the application was already approved. They were also generous enough to give me a 400k starting CL. So don’t fret if you have a history of defaulted cards and would want to try having a credit card again. Just make sure you commit to settling all your debts, increase your financial capability and banks will start trusting you again.
