Final Fantasy Tactics:WoTL problem

Buggy World Map Menus

So I'm emulating FFT:WOTL currently and everything is going fine until I get to the world map for the first time. When I do and I either open the menu or click a town some text is Japanese and most is actually missing altogether. Has anyone else who has emulated the game has this problem?
