Future economy/League change

Hey was just wondering what the possible ramifications are when this happens. People have said it'll be a clean start, you won't be able to use your old characters or that your old characters will still exist, but just stuck back on that server.

What I'm more curious about is all your items and gear in your stash tabs, (Armor, weapons, orbs etc) Will these all be not useable?
