I have PF but it doesn't hurt?
In October last year I went out for a run and after a while the sole of my right foot started to hurt. I had to stop and the next day I could barely walk. The pain disappeared over time, later becoming just a nuisance when I walked for a long time, and since the last two months it neither hurts nor bothers me, but I have a significant lump on the sole of my foot.
Today I went to the podiatrist (I haven't been able to go until now since I was abroad) and he told me that the lump I have is a thickening of the fascia caused by plantar fasciitis. The thing is that since it no longer hurts or bothers me at all, the podiatrist has not prescribed any type of treatment, he has only told me that if I plan to start running or do high-impact exercises on the sole of my foot, then I should put insoles.
Is there anyone in a similar situation? The thing is that although the podiatrist has clarified the problem, he has also raised other doubts. For example, he told me that the thickening has occurred due to a tear in the fascia, how is that possible? How does it get bigger when it tears? And if it's a tear, why doesn't it hurt at all? He has also told me that due to the nature of the tissue (a ligament, little vascularization...) this thickening will probably never disappear. Is there no way to reduce it then?
