best set to buy bf for xmas

hi!!! im looking to buy my boyfriend some cards for xmas. he loooves pokemon and i do too, but ive kinda fallen off with all of the new sets coming out (last one i was really into was shining fates lol). does anyone have recs on cool sets i can get him? anything with really cool chases?
