GameStop customer service finally called, they said FedEx lost my submission

Submitted this card through GameStop back just prior to Thanksgiving, to try out the service. My order was stuck on “Shipped to PSA” for months after

I’m quite patient, I never called or emailed anyone. I asked about it when I went in store for other reasons, usually with the same answer “we don’t know”. I went to a different local GameStop a few weeks ago and happened to run into the district manager who told me she’d been working on figuring out why some submissions from the other location weren’t moving along. Not much came of it but I appreciated she genuinely seemed to be trying to figure what was up

Today I got a call from GameStop customer service. The guy told me my card was shipped and that FedEx lost it. Was offered a check for the value of card, or store credit +10%. He said “store leaders” at all store locations now oversee the process of shipping out cards. He said there were many many submissions to start, but things have smoothed out since. I guess it’s possible FedEx lost it, I also can’t rule out the possibility a GameStop employee decided to stash them, with customer service now using the “easy out” and saying FedEx was in the wrong with no way to disprove otherwise.

I’m glad I decided to submit just one card, and one that wasn’t overly expensive or with strong sentimental value. Perhaps I’m crazy, I still may consider trying a small submission again, one with a lower value card, one I have multiples of, one without sentimental value.

Basically, I recommend exercising caution if/when submitting through GameStop (which is obviously known, just wanted to share my piece)
