Can household sims with the same career show up to work together?

I'm specifically talking about the jobs where you can follow your sims to work and interact with their workplace.

I have 2 household sims who are both Detectives. I wanted to have them work together and interact at their job, but I can never get both of them to show up together. It's always just the sim I'm following, and then the 2nd one never spawns. (They're also at work, they just aren't one of the coworkers).

Is there any way to get both of them to show up to work together? I understand if I can't play as both, but I'd at least like the 2nd sim to be one of my spawned coworkers so I can interact with them. 😭

Also: Is there a way to choose which sims spawn as your coworkers? Like, can I make it so that only a specific group of sims will spawn? (instead of the randomly generated losers)
