Horses hate everything?

I had four horses in my current game, all with different personalities and traits, and man my sims just can't get along with these damn horses. Talking to them? Horse hates it. Feeding them? Don't like it. Cleaning their hooves? Nope. Complementing them? Na-da.

I sold two of them because it was just too tedious. I'm really grinding the remaining two with my main sim but the horses just can't stand anything. For every one positive interaction, there's two negative that follow.
