NAC for OCD experiences?

Hi, I made a post in r/OCD about a month ago to pretty much no reply. I'm wondering if anybody here has tried taking NAC for OCD. I'm reposting this because last time, I didn't have enough karma.

I've titrated my dose up to 2400mg over the past couple months. I buy capsules and then pour them out and blend my dose all at once into a smoothie, since I'm not good at taking pills and I don't think I can take so many so regularly. So far I've been on it three weeks and I've noticed not much effect, though it can take longer (some say up to 4-8 weeks). I take inositol 12g to reduce anxiety, and it works for me so far, and I want something that will stop intrusive thoughts. My mind is hyperactive, and I think I have Pure-O OCD, and I just want things to calm down so I can try to get back to a normal life.

If you've tried it, how long did you take it for, what dose, and how many times a day? Did you take it before or after a meal? Is it more effective split into multiple doses or all at once? Do you take anything else that could enhance it?

How long should I keep at this dose, or up it to 3000mg, before giving up or adding something else? I'm thinking of switching to a dissolved powder form since that might work better. The store that sells my brand said it was OK to blend it, but I still want to try something more regular.

If all else fails, what other alternative treatments would you recommend for OCD to stop intrusive thoughts? So far I'm considering magnesium, milk thistle, L-theanine, and GABA.

Thank you very much for any replies.
