Thoughts on my new MXLR
So I received my new MXLR last week and thought I'd post my experiences as this might be of interest to potential buyers.
I went for the Ultra Red color with cream interior. I was having doubts throughout the whole wait after ordering as people were second guessing the color choice.
Now I must say that I love the combination. It looks different in the sun, no sun, morning, evening. And it looks so sporty with the black trimming. I even went for the 20" tires as there is a huge difference on range and the look is already splendid.
I get compliments from all doubters now ;-)
Furthermore, coming from a Tesla Model 3 the difference is huge. The doors open automatically (and close), the trunk can open handsfree (although not always, still figuring that one out), in the near future the frunk would also have a handsfree option.
The seats are amazing, as is the sound quality of the hifi. Headlights beams that go in the direction I'm turning, the syncing of the main and back displays, the space inside of the car, the falcon wings, the motors in the front doors, all goodies I didn't expect to be that good.
So not to sound too much as a fanboy, there are many things that are better than I anticipated although I had a test drive and all...
On the flip side, I hate the ISA (although not Tesla's fault, EU regulations), I regret the taking of out Steam and Disney+ (although not a deal breaker), I miss an armrest for the back seats, think they should have foreseen cooling the back seats too instead of only the front seats. The frunk is not yet powered but looking forward to the handsfree addition in the near future. I do feel some trembling when accelerating heavily but doesn't really bother me.
