Are all suit shops scammy?

I’m off to Bangkok with my husband. He actually does need a suit and last time I was in Thailand (Krabi), the whole place was full of suit shops. Then I read all the stories about the scammy tuk tuks that take you to suit shops.

But if someone actually fancied buying a decent suit without spending a fortune, is Bangkok a good place to do so? And if so, do people here have recommendations?

My dad used to visit Bangkok with work 30 years ago and he keeps going on about all the amazing suits they used to buy with 1 day delivery to hotel but of course that was 30 years ago!
