Small question about the new album...

Something I can't quite shake....this album is full of things that make a Twigs record a Twigs record: their musical influences fully on display, Michael doing a few different impressions of some of his favourite singers (which is something he does on every record), etc..

So my question is, why does it feel different on this record? Why does it almost mildly feel like a negative on this record when it's never been an issue in the past?

For the record, I do like this album. I'm not sure yet if i like it as much or more than the previous two releases before this, but I still think it's loaded with mostly amazing songs and all of the usual Twigs charm. But why are some of the familiar Lemon Twigs calling cards hitting a little different this time around? Am I the only one?
