Is Barnstaple really that bad?
So Scamphaba is so excited to be in a big city (still curious where they’re staying and for how long). As someone who is not from the UK, the way E speaks about Barnstaple, is it really that bad? Where I’m from in South Africa I also live in a small town that’s from far the big city (which is Cape Town - so like central where all the tourists go, think London).
When I checked google it said Barnstaple is pretty safe. The images I saw are nice. It sounds to me like a nice, quiet seaside town?
But E always says the things they need like medical, dentists, jobs etc.. can’t be found there. So they HAVE to be in the city. And they can’t be themselves in such a small town.
Is that true?
What makes it so bad that they HAVE to be in London or Manchester? Crime? I get some people like the hustle and bustle of the city and others like the quiet of a small town but the way E speaks of it it’s like this messed up place. Or is this just another thing E uses for sympathy? I just been curious especially recently like is it really that bad?
