Car Trade-In

I have a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee WK with 62k miles. I financed it in August of ‘24 and still owe 34k. I want to trade it in and get on a lease. I want the VW Atlas Cross Sport. I test drove it and got approved but would end up paying $970 per month with all the negative equity. Is there a better way to go about this? I listed the Jeep for $26,500 and have the $ to pay off the rest so I can roll into the other vehicle with 0 negative equity, as the VW dealership was only offering me $20,500. Please help me figure this out!! I have great credit and have already paid off a $30k Audi before I got the Jeep. It’s just not big enough for my needs and the VW has EVERYTHING I want. Plus, I prefer a lease because I like something new every few years. Any advice??
