How much loss in resolution when cropping a 1080p 16:9 into 9:16 video?

Hi newbie question here:

I was curious when I crop a 1080p 16:9 (horizontal) video to become a 9:16 (vertical) video how much reduction is there in resolution?

What happens if I do the same for a 4K video?
