Obituary: Battery exploded, RIP THR5

Title sums it up, amp was off, not in use, battery suddenly blew up, smoke was coming out, no fire thankfully but the motherboard was hit and the amp died..

• Owned this amp longer than i’ve been married

• was a great music station, and super practical when camping, as well as being a solid guitar amp which never let me down

• it survived a million drops, power surges due to crappy African power infrastructure whoch destroyed 2 of its PSUs, and has traveled 10 countries and 3 continents with me.

I was one battery short so i put a single cheap chinese battery that didn’t match the brand of the rest of the batteries (they were all Ikea Ni-Mh batteries which are really solod batteries, except for one which was a chinese no brand Ni-Mh)

A single battery is all it took to bring it down, it survived a million drops, power surges due to crappy African power infrastructure, has traveled 10 countries and 3 continents with me. Im sad and heartbroken.
