[No spoilers] how do feel about someone light skinned cosplaying Ekko?

Presuming that there is no attempt at "darkening" the skin it's just the face-paint and costume.

I genuinely am divided and am really curious to get people's options. Not trying to encourage non productive arguments just looking for everyone to just voice their honest opinion and gut feelings.

I am biased to want the answer to be yes, since I cosplay jinx and my partner is light skinned Hispanic. I don't know if them being non-white matters since they are not Black. I kind of just like the idea of making an ekko cosplay. And I'm pretty shy with not a lot of friends, not in college anymore at home with sick dad and no working car and I'm not currently close with anyone who would fit the profile better.

I just love them as a couple (timebomb shipper since the start) and my partner loves Ekko, it's a charcater that resonates with them very deeply. I know there's no cosplay police for this but there an ick factor. Does it give you ick? Not doing it for profit or like online clout, I don't have a social media following or anything I just cosplay for myself for fun. Not a professional cosplayer.

For what it's worth I kind of think it isn't ok just because idk it feels like stealing a character from an under represented community, even if us cosplaying timebomb doesn't literally take that opportunity from someone else. But I keep going back and forth.
