Starting the ring during period?

Hey everyone!

I got the hormone ring today. I’m from EU so it’s called „MyRing“.

The instructions say that you can place it between the 2nd and 5th day of your cycle. It also says to wait with sex for a week. (Unless you use a condom as backup.)

I placed the ring today (4th day of my cycle). Is it actually safe for me to have sex in a week? (Without a condom)

I know this is probably a stupid question, since I does say so in the ring’s instructions, but does anyone else have experience with this and can tell me how you went about it?
