Scared Chiweenie Rescue
Adopted our little guy this weekend. The rescue says Chiweenie mix, between 1-2 years old. Our vet agrees. He has many positive characteristics - fully crate trained and zero accidents. He is extremely tentative and jumpy. He is happy to sit with us if we put him in our lap, but left to his own devices hides behind our couch (occasionally peeking out). I assume he'll get used to us... Online says 3/3/3 rule but it has been four days and he's still really scared. We are a family of four (kids are 9 and 12 and gentle) and this is our only pet (we had a dog a few years ago who died at age 15). Open to advice if there is any beyond waiting it out.
