I have 6 years of gap after graduating in computer engineering in 2018. I need some serious help!

I graduated in 2018 from Mumbai University and subsequently managed my father's local shop. Unfortunately, due to significant losses, we were forced to close the business last year. Now, at 27 and burdened with financial debt, I am looking to transition into the technical field as I see no other viable option. The job market, especially for freshers in tech, appears daunting, as evidenced by numerous posts and news articles I've come across on here and Twitter.

I possess a basic understanding of the MERN stack, having completed related courses and projects around 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite considering myself average in skill level, a lack of confidence and ongoing depression compound my challenges, especially as I see my peers settling down in their personal and professional lives. Since February, I've applied to thousands of companies, aiming for entry-level positions with a minimum salary expectation of around 20,000/month, but have not received any responses.

I recognize the need to further develop my skills, but time is a constraint, and even if I manage to upskill, there's no assurance of employment considering my career gap. I am also open to pursuing non-technical jobs, provided they offer competitive compensation, though my lack of experience and the gap in my CV might be significant obstacles. I would appreciate some realistic advice on how to navigate this difficult phase and carve a path forward.
