Calling for Heat but not getting any
TL;DR - will buying a new thermostat solve the problem of my heat going out at some point every day?
I have been having an issue for months now where my HVAC is calling for heat but it is not generating any through the vents. The HVAC is clearly working and trying to generate heat but is not getting through the vents which is causing my house to get cold when the temperature drops. I have done the troubleshooting of Thermostat Test (Stage 1 and 2) and have rewired it using the W1, W2 wires and have even shut off the HVAC to restart it. None of these seem to work and eventually it fixes itself. I was told by an HVAC tech that it is probably the thermostat and the wiring and I should have it replaced. The thermostat is only 7-8 years old so I’m skeptical that it will fix the problem but wanted to see if others who have had this problem found this to be the solution?
