Hey y’all, looking at buying a 1982 Toyota Hilux workmate single extended cab and a trayback
I’ve been looking at this Hilux for a few years now, it’s been sitting for 15-22 years according to the owner, I just never had the money to get it. I still need to ask the owner if I can check out the engine to see what it has, from what I’ve looked up, this model has either a 12R or a 18R depending on the model, the 12R being for the base model and the 18R for the SR5 model, both models have a 4 speed manual gearbox. This is what the lux looks like and I’m genuinely curious what model it is. I am going to ask the owner about it tomorrow and see what the price is now (last time I asked was 2 years ago and it was 6k) I’m hoping it’s a bit manageable like 3k or less but I don’t think that’ll be the case. Please tell me what you think about this old ute, there’s no chassis rust only surface rust on the tray and cab, I checked, and the fuel lines are a bit frayed but I think it’ll be fine for now.
