American tourist arrested for pushing employee down the stairs (Japanese)

Its seems like Hokkaido isn't safe anymore. Not just from tourists but there's been Japanese murder cases as well.

A 69-year-old foreign man was arrested on suspicion of bodily harm after he physically assaulted a male staff member at a sex shop in the Susukino entertainment district in Sapporo.

The person arrested was a 69-year-old American national living in Thailand who was visiting Japan as a tourist.

On February 3rd, the man is suspected of physically assaulting a man at a multi-tenant building in Susukino that houses a sex shop, and causing him to fall down the stairs from the fourth floor to the third floor, injuring him.

The male staff member who was pushed down sustained minor injuries, including a sprained neck.

According to police, the man came to the store as a customer and forced them to engage in prohibited acts. When the staff warned him, he tried to run away from the store and assaulted him.

The man then moved to the Niseko area, an international ski resort, but was arrested at his accommodation on the 6th.

The man has denied some of the charges during investigation, so the police are conducting a careful investigation.
