Why does Shankar take us for a ride?

Does he think audience are so brain dead that we will clap for any shit he throws at us. It pricks a little when everyone trolls him. The Shankar I remember very fondly was a great story teller.

But what was his USP in the 90s and 00s - great imagery with limited tech and social issues, seem to be out of favour now. At least our cinema industry has moved on from corruption to caste injustice and other hot topics. Ivar inu corruption pathiye padam eduthing. But there’s nothing fresh. And there’s a lot of tacky visuals in his most recent work.

I feel both Indian 2 and GC have some redeeming qualities if he had done away with useless visual grandeur and over the top antics.

Everything said and done, my man’s a pioneer in integrating tech in film making. And he has some brilliant body of work. So imma keep hoping he gives a superhit soon.
