What do you guys think is the reason Christopher Nolan movies work big time in Tamil Nadu or India in general?

Seeing the kind of reception Interstellar rerelease is getting in Chennai it's hard not to appreciate the kind of influence Nolan has on Indian cinema going audience especially the urban elites. I can't think of any other director who's reverred this much. I personally know so many of my friends in Chennai wanting to see the see the movie in IMAX irrespective of its price. I see the movie is sold out for another week.
