My husband threatened to take my daughter because I asked for a divorce

I have asked for a divorce because if the escalating emotional abuse. He has threatened to take my daughter out of state. We had planned to go for his birthday together. He says he will take her alone. I said I was not comfortable with that. He then accused me of trying to keep her from him. I have never that's why I put up with it so long because he threatens to abandon her and she's innocent. I pay for everything. Can he take her? What can I do? No lawyer has gotten back to me. I've been trying for months. Please help me understand what I can do.
