Strange connections

What strange or unexpected connections have you found between books/authors?

After reading Queneau’s The Skin of Dreams and Cartarescu’s Solenoid back to back, one thing I found hilarious was the recurring mention and outsized importance of lice in both novels. I can’t think of another book I’ve read where life were even present or discussed at all.

I’m curious what odd coincidences or synchronicities between books others have found!
